Despite being in the heart of the NSW desert, Fowler’s Gap has an abundance of water: in the Saltbush that engulfs the land, under the dry riverbeds, in the rain the falls and quickly sinks into the mud, and in the dew that wets your shoes as you crunch over to breakfast. You just can’t drink it. Or swim in it.

Wandered is a visual interpretation of William Wordsworth’s poem, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud (1815). A Romantic era poet, Wordsworth along with many of his contemporaries, ‘consider[ed] man and nature as essentially adapted to each other.’ The film considers how, in the future, man has moved past the point of adaptation and has begun to destroy it.
